April 24th Cooking Class: The Herb Kitchen

$ 65.00

We are partnered with Christopher Kimball's Milk Street to bring you Milk Street curated classes and recipes.  This class is a demonstration-based iteration of The Herb Kitchen.

Doors open at 6:15pm, class begins promptly at 6:30pm and runs until approximately 8:30pm. Port Plums 50 Water Street Suites 402 & 403, Newburyport, MA. (P) 978-462-7700

Class Description:

Bitter, pungent, sweet, and fresh, herbs are a cornerstone of Milk Street Cooking. Sure, we toss handfuls on dishes as a garnish – a familiar finishing flourish – but we’ve also learned to use them as a major ingredient in stir-fries, salads, meatballs, soups, dressings and more. This class dives deep into the culinary power of parsley, cilantro, mint, basil, tarragon, dill, and marjoram and will change the way you cook.

Recipes Include:

French Carrot Salad Cilantro, Scallion, and Cucumber Salad

Herb and Pistachio Couscous

Jasmine Rice and Herb Salad with Shrimp

Turkish Meatballs

Rosemary Pine Nut Cookies

Please note: This is not a hands-on class. In this class you will watch and interact as the instructor prepares several dishes using a variety of strategies and techniques. You will sample from generous tasting portions of the demonstrated dishes.

Food Allergies/Restrictions: Please notify us at least 7 days in advance of the class if any food allergies or restrictions in your party by emailing info@portplums.com. We will do our best to accommodate when possible. Most classes can be made gluten-free with advance notice.
